FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common answers regarding scanned PDF text extraction.

How does client-side OCR processing work?

Our tool uses PDF.js to render document pages into high-resolution canvas elements locally, and then applies Tesseract.js (WebAssembly) to recognize and extract characters directly inside your device's memory.

Is my scanned document uploaded to any server?

No. The entire Optical Character Recognition (OCR) process runs securely and privately within your local web browser. Your sensitive files are never uploaded or transmitted over the internet.

What languages are supported for text extraction?

Currently, the tool supports English, Indonesian, Spanish, French, and German text extraction. We also offer mixed-language support (like English + Indonesian) in a single pass.

Why is the OCR process taking time?

Because processing happens locally on your device rather than a remote cloud server, extraction speed relies entirely on your computer or phone's CPU performance. Multi-page PDFs will naturally take longer to scan completely.

How can I improve the accuracy of extracted text?

Ensure your scanned PDF has a high resolution (minimum 200 DPI). Additionally, leave the 'Auto Contrast & Sharpening' checkbox enabled in the settings, which helps normalize grey pixels and enhances text borders before scanning.
